Cons:
Cheap parts, poor design nullifies HEPA When I got this vacuum for $350, I was impressed at how well I cleaned the floor. After a year, I soon discovered that I paid too much. I'm glad I bought Sears overpriced warantee. The roller brush siezed on me. The brush is made of wood and cheap plastic so there's no way to take it apart and get the hair out. I have to either buy a warantee or spend $75 to replace it myself. In the three years I've had the vacuum, the roller brush has siezed twice. I watched a consumer report on TV about this vacuum and other similar models. Kenmore advertises that the HEPA filters 99% of allergens out of the air. Since the vacuum is designed so air can escape easily, when a measurement tool was place next to the HEPA filter with the vacuum on, it quadrupled the amount of allergens. The same test was done on a Miele, and the allergens were reduced by 99%. All in all, this vacuum falls woefully short of their promises. It's simply not worth $350. Most vacuums you can buy at Wal-Mart will have the same performance for about 1/3 the cost. If you don't have a lot of allergies, and you don't have very long hair, save your money and buy a Hoover at Wal-Mart. If allergies are a concern, an extra $50 will get you a vacuum that lasts 20 years.
