Pros:  Holds king size comforters

Cons:  Poor design between door & drum I purchased this washer in Feb 2007. The washer has a very poor design (in my opinion) between the door & the washer drum. The rubber is so very flexible & soft & able to be moved by the clothes during the wash cycle, clothes are often forced in between the washer drum & the rubber seal - since the washer spins at such a high rate of speed, the clothes are shredded. It actually looks like they were thrown into a yard with wild dogs. I contacted GE (let's just say it was less than stellar service) & GE advised they didn't know what to do. In short, the washer was replaced in April 2007. It's now Jan 08 & I am incurring the same problems but with more severe damage. This time during the wash cycle while the clothing became lodged between the drum & rubber seal, the clothing actually tore the rubber seal which in turn allowed all of the water in the washer to spill out onto the floor. Again, I am at GE's mercy. I think the design is of poor quality as I have looked at other front loaders since incurring these difficulties & have noticed the rubber seal is much more rigid & difficult to move thus, I would think preventing the clothing from becoming lodged between the drum & rubber seal. Soaking clothes is a thing of the past as well since front loaders use so little water, they are not immersed in water nor do they have the ability to be paused & restarted in mid cycle. I sure do miss my top loader.

Pros:  saves water

Cons:  shakes and vibrates very bad, even after 2 services I have had this unit over a year and know I am looking to buy another. It is very loud and the loads cannot be balanced no matter how much you try.
