Pros:  Works well, nice features for the actual microwave

Cons:  Cook top light is extemely dim, not useful I purchased this microhood and had it installed approximately one month. The microwave portion works very well and has a number of nice features. However, I am sorry that I replaced my stove vent hood with this particular model. It only has one 40 watt light bulb for illuminating the stove top, where other manufacturers have two bulbs. The light is so dim that it is useless for anything other than a night light even on the highest setting. If you are used to using the over the stove light as your light source when cooking then avoid this model. My second complaint is about the Maytag customer service. I contacted Maytag via email about this problem and it has been over a week and I never received a reply. I called customer service and instead of telling me if I have a defective model (there is a space for another light socket but no socket is present) the customer service rep tells me that two bulbs would make the unit too hot. When I pointed out that other manufacturer's have two bulb she asked for the manufacturer of the product I was calling about. Duh! I wouldn't call Maytag if I didn't have questions about a Maytag!! I grew up with the lonely Maytag repairman commercials and thought highly of the brand, but I have changed my mind now.

Uneven Heating, Dim over stove light

Pros:  Looks good, powerful

Cons:  Uneven heating I picked this microwave because if was an over the stove model and I didn't want to take up counter space. I liked the sleek look with curved styling. It is 1100 watts which I have decided is actually too strong. I frequently have to use the Power Level setting at 6 or 7 so I don't overcook or completely fry things. It also seems to cook unevenly, I've given up trying to cook microwave popcorn, it either burns or is undercooked. Same with microwave bacon - one end of the bacon will be burned to a crisp, the middle will be cool. It works best for heating up leftovers. I probably didn't need such a large microwave for that activity. Finally, the under the microwave lightbulb is so dim it's almost useless, it's also burned out 2 times in a year, and the replacement bulbs are special to this microwave and really hard to find. It's so dark over my stove and can hardly see what I'm doing.
