Pros:  value

Cons:  see review Great value. But two things bothered me.

One...The caraffe tends to dribble when you pour, leaving spills on the table or coutertop when you pour coffee or when adding cold water to reservoir.

Two...after the first year, the teflon coating on the heat plate started to flake off

Pros:  Dependably brews fine coffee

Cons:  Quit working in 18 months We had purchased the red FTX27 in May 2006. It was very attractive and worked well. There was some difficulty getting inside the caraffe to clean it as the mouth was small.
The coffee pot stopped working on Dec. 5th, 2007. (As the warranty is for only one year, please consider that your purchase will only function about a year and a half leaving you no recourse for repair or refund.)

Pros:  Very Dependable

Cons:  Does Drip when pouring My husband had his Mr. Coffee 12 cup Coffee Maker for a couple of years before we were married. It is now 10 years old and just keeps on working. It does not look very attractive after 10 years, but how do you off load it for a new one when it still works and the coffee is good.

Pros:  Good Coffee

Cons:  nothing to complain about We received our Mr. Coffee as a wedding present July 2005.We use it atleast 4 to 5 times a week and haven't had any real problems with it so far. It smudges easily but that's about it. Everyone compliments on how good the coffee is. As a comment to someone elses report; The only reason it leaks out the back is because you're filling it way above the 12 cup line. Keep it at 12 cups and it will not leak.

Pros:  Dependably good cofee, watermarks

Cons:  carafe dribbles I'm pretty particular about my coffee, and grind beans each morning before brewing. We've had this coffee maker for about three years with no problems- it always makes a great cup. I also like that there are easy to see water level markings not only on the carafe, but on both sides of the machine itself. I'm sure we didn't pay more than $30 for it.

Pros:  Well, it does make coffee

Cons:  everything else As I said, "Well, it does make coffee." Other than that, i would say it is the worst coffee pot I have ever owned or used. (It was a gift... I would have never picked it.)
1. The carafe drips. How on earth do you go through design and product testing and never notice that the carafe drips every time you pour a cup. A new carafe did not help.
2. The design of the top is also stupid. When you take out the basket to put a filter in, you can not set it flat because there is a protrusion on the bottom. Soooo, you must take your little scoop of grounds and pour it into the filter basket while it is in the coffee pot. Not convenient. Never have seen this before and I am used to taking the basket out, putting in the filter and coffee while it is on the counter and replacing the full basket into the coffee pot. Less messy!
3. Water receptacle entrance. Again, who designed this? Imagine a hole with grates to pour the water through, but the center 1/3 of it is solid, no grate. So if you are off slightly with your pour, it hits the middle area and dribbles all over. I guess it is a left and right handed hole, but one big entrance would be much better.
4. General shape and design. Coffee pots in general should be designed to fit under the counter, fill the grounds, pour the water and NOT have to be moved everytime to do all this. Just make them short and squat. I have had Krups makers that accomplished this.
5. Flaking paint... Yes the heating unit is flaking paint.
6. Okay, I will say in favor of it that the interface panel to use it is easy and works well.
7, And it keeps the coffee hot. But that's what it's supposed to do...
Overall I would not recommend this product. I always wonder how such products makes it through testing. Do they only ask a few questions like:
Does it brew coffee?
Is it hot?
Does the plug work?
Can you figure out to use it?
If this is all you care about, buy this coffeemaker... and Good Luck...

Pros:  12 cup coffee jug

Cons:  burns out before the warranty I dont like this maker becuase we have had it for LESS than one year and already the maker shuts off at 2 cups of coffee made. We then have to turn it back on and it will make another 2 cups of coffee and then turn off once aggain. And so we have to turn it back on again. ITS about to go out in the TRASH!!!!

It is best for the $$

Pros:  works, inexpensive, makes good coffee

Cons:  you need to pay attention to what you do! Horrible
By Kat
Kat...you must be doing something wrong...
I have had every coffe maker known to man, Braun, Krup, Cuisinart etc...and they all had issues, and failed sooner or later.
The two Mr. Coffe's that I have both work and cost under $30 bucks! How cna you beat it. the coffe filters can not be over full and need to be set in level. Make sure the folds are not sticking out!! I have never had one run over or leak in threee years and I use it every day!. Pour slowly...slowly....stop being in a hurry...the extrr 5 seconds won't kill you and it will not drip! These machine work perfectly if you take a minute...
people...get alife...it btews very good coffee because it heats to the propoer temp, and the water level is easy, filters cheap, simple...it cleans up good...and if it dies in a yr...maybe?...but if it does...I paid $15.99 on sale??!!...what more could you ask for...get another one.
