Cons:
none The Dyson DC-14 Animal is a great vac. Bought a Eureka Boss 10 months ago and was so disgusted with it I threw it out and bought the Dyson. The Eureka broke belts every time I used it, and you had to take the thing apart with a screwdriver to replace them. The carpet-height adjustment (a non-replaceable hard plastic assembly) disintegrated for no apparent reason. The thing had a lot of suction, and routinely tried to eat my oriental rugs and carpets. The hose and tools were a pain in the xxx to use and gave the machine a Darth Vader appearance when awkwardly stored on the vac. The hose was full-time part of the regular operation of the vac, and frequently came out of its socket, spewing dirt all over. It was heavy and noisy. The Dyson is the opposite of all these problems. It cleans fantastically. It's relatively light. The ingeneous hose and tools actually work and are easy to use. It's not silent, but it has a relatively low and tolerable noise level that doesn't freak out the cat. It's self-height-adjusting, and it doesn't suck up my rugs, notwithstanding its world-class amount of suction that stays constant even when the container is full of dirt. And the dirt-container drops stuff out the bottom into the trashcan at the push of a button -- and it all goes into the can -- not on the floor, the air, or you. Buy one. You won't regret it
