Break-away cord breaks away too easily As a cheese expert and former caterer and cooking school instructor, I have used many different fondue pots over the years. Last year I found such a great price on this one that I could not pass it up. I am so glad I purchased this. The pot heats up quickly and has no "hot spots". While I am not a fan of nonstick surfaces in cookware, the nonstick surface on this is a fantastic feature. There is a wide range of temperatures available...we have used this for hot oil tempura fondue all the way down to a low temperature chocolate fondue. It works perfectly at all temperatures and holds the oil temp well (you do not want the temperature to drop when cooking tempura...it will be greasy if it drops too much). Clean-up is EASY with this one...it wipes clean in a few seconds but also is dishwasher safe!!! The use on this is not limited to fondue.....we host poker games regularly and I use this to make cheese dip in, then keep the cheese dip just at the right temperature all evening. Cocktail sausages in sauces stay perfectly hot as well. This is definitely the best one on the market. My only complaint is with the break-away cord (required by law)...the magnets break away with a very slight touch sometimes, however it is an important safety feature. I will be purchasing a second one soon just for the great convenience for parties.
