Pros:
Good Suction |
Cons:
Very Heavy Having allergies, it was not fun dealing with the latest bagless vacuums we had tried. We decided to go back to a vacuum with bags and it is so much easier and less of a mess to change out. They also have lots of accessories at Eureka's site. With a cat, dog, and toddler....we cannot complain with it's overall performance!

Pros:
Great Suction Power |
| Cons:
Heavy to push I thought you had to pay more than this to get this quality and suction power. This is probably the least expensive vacuum I've ever owned- but it cleans as well as the more expensive models. It is my first time trying Eureka brand and I'm glad I gave it a try. I was sold when I saw that Consumer Reports rated this a Best Buy. Their comparison showed it cleaned better than several other well-known brands that sell for $400 or more. When I saw those kinds of results, I decided not to spend as much as I'd planned and go with Consumer Reports recommendation. Glad I did!

poor handle release & on-board tool security I just purchased the Eureka "The Boss Smart Vac" yesterday based on reviews I read and the Consumer Reports recommendation. While this vacuum does not seem like a bad product, it is still brand new and only time will tell. But immediately, I found some things I don't like. This machine is not conducive to a person with arthritis and mine is only minimal. The handle release is difficult to manuever, it's a bit difficult to push, leaving me with back pain, and the on-board brush attachment does not fit securely on the machine. As a result it keeps falling off. If you don't immediately notice it, you can run over it or trip over it. Additionally, the attachments do not fit on the extended wand and therefore you can not vacuum overhead areas; without the availability of the extended wand, it makes it difficult to do stairs. Certainly it's worth the value, at around $150. And one more thing I found interesting, and only time will tell on this, the unit comes with an extra belt. If it comes with a belt I have to assume, the belt is not going to last very long. I'd rather it came with extra bags & or a filter, the things I expect to replace more frequently than the belt.

heavy, spewed dirt on floor, short hose, noisy After reading that this vacuum received the Consumer Reports Best Buy recommendation, I purchased it with no reservation. I've had it for less than two months and have found it to be heavy, difficult to maneuver, quite noisy (high pitched, grating to the ear), the hose is too short (the pic on the box indicates that it is long enough to reach half-way down or up a set of stairs--nay, nay!), and the last time I used it, it began spewing dirt from the right front corner! I changed the bag (it was time but not overly full). After the change, it spewed again. My husband used it today with no problem, which makes repair tricky. I spoke to Customer Service; after going through the checklist it was determined that I must take it to an authorized repair shop. Not what I expect from a Consumer Reports Best Buy!

Pros:
Durable |
| Cons:
None I have had this vaccuum for a good number of years and it has performed well. The hose has stopped working and it doesn't propel itself as it once did but it gets a LOT of use. I am seriously considering replacing it with the newer model. It's only flaw is that it is not all that great on hard surfaces.

Pros:
Good suction, floor and hose |
| Cons:
too heavy, good workout, forget the gym or treadmill, most importantly, brush stalls even on my low carpets even when setting is on high carpet cost was cheap, suction is great, but it wears you out, its a good workout, skip the gym and vacuum once a day and you wont need the gym, it cleans great and the floors look like new, but the roller brush doesn't have enough motor power to keep it spinning non stop, i have very short carpet and have to keep the setting on high , if i put it on low , to match my low carpet, the roller will quit spinning on the carpet and stop, it will only spin when i'm moving the vac back and forth, it always stops , when i stop vacuuming, which is oftern, because I am worn out from the workout and also my back starts to hurt because of the great suction on the carpet and the heavyness of the vac, i aint small either 5'9", and 260 lbs, and i can bench press over 350lbs, so i'm no weekling, overall, it has great suction, but I would like to see the brush motor and lot heavy duty and more horsepower so the brush roller wont stop all the time, but for the money, BUY IT AND LOSE SOME WEIGHT IN THE PROCESS.

Heavy, short hose and brush won't spin We have this vacuum for less than a year, the first time we got it we have to bring it to an authorize repair shop because the brush won't stop spinning even if it is in the upright position. It took more than 2 months to repair it and that is only after I threatened to return the vacuum. Now, it is almost a year since we bought it and we are having problem with the brush roller again. This time it won't spin, even if we have the setting on high it still won't spin when it touches the carpet. It will only spin if we lift it off the floor and it is not touching the carpet. My wife is getting frustrated with this as without the action of the brush, it doesn't do much. Like the other people who wrote reviews here I bought it because it got a best buy recommendation from consumer report. Now I am thinking of getting a new vacuum, this vacuum is inexpensive and has good suction power but I don't think it is worth the trouble and frustration it brings.
