Pros:
water filter, gold basket, thermal carafe, no heat plate |
Cons:
a little too many pieces This is one of the best coffee makers that I have had. Enough so that I have bought 4 for gifts. The carafe keeps the coffee hot and fresh for about 2 hours when you follow the directions to prewarm the carafe. The filter is great - both the filtration and the gold basket are wonderful. Completely worth every penny for this coffee maker.

Pros:
Built in Grinder, Thermal Carafe, Styling, Automatic Features, Ease of Use |

Cons:
Some parts don't close as smoothly as they should. We just purchased the Cuisinart DGB-600BC "Grind and Brew" Coffee Maker and are very satisfied with it. There have been many comments made about the temperature of the coffee and the clean-up. It is true the coffee is not as flesh scorching hot as one would get from Starbucks, but it's sufficiently hot to see steam rising from your cup. Pre-warming the carafe, as stated in the instructions, is a must. I have been using whole beans for a decade now and used to use a separate grinder. This was a clumsy two-step process, which required a bit of clean-up to the grinder and the surrounding area. The grind and brew greatly simplifies the process and actually makes the overall clean-up easier. It took only a couple of minutes to rinse the grinding cup and mesh and dry with a paper towel. I do this after the coffee is made and it's ready for the next batch. I suspect that most of the criticism of the grinding clean-up is from folks who are new to grinding. My only minor critique has to do with how some of the parts open and close in the unit. I found that the filter door doesn't alway lock in place and I have to use more force that I should to close it. The same is true for the opening at the top, which provides access to the grinder and water chamber. This is very minor though. The grinder is loud, but most grinders are so that is the price you pay for better coffee. Overall I am very satisfied and would highly recommend it to others.

Pros:
has grinder, good carafe, timer, auto shut off |
| Cons:
grinder stops working after time, twice replaced under warranty, leaking at base Love the appearance, don't like that you can't see how much water is added from the outside of unit, as a short person it is hard to look "into" the reserve for amount of cups of water added. The unit lasts about 1 yr and then has problems. For the cost it is frustrating but they do honor the warranty hassle free.

Pros:
grinder and coffee in on place saves space |
| Cons:
coffee is weak Need to use 20 percent more coffee then I used in my Gevelia to get the same strength brew. With the price of the unit and now using 20 percent more coffee, this is quite an expensive morning brew.

Pros:
Very Good Coffee |
| Cons:
Takes time to clean every day I vary the strength of the brew by experimenting with the amount of beans I place in the grinder each morning relative to the amount of water I place into the tank. It is easy to clean under the water faucet and just let it dry.

Pros:

| Cons:
M-E-S-S-Y Although this coffee pot sports a great look & a very easy to use appearance, beware. I have read reviews, some love it, some, like us, wouldn't wish this on our worst enemy. We ran water through it to clean it out. No problem. Put coffee in the reusable basket & ran it expecting wonderful things based on the reputation of the company. Well, if your idea of wonderful is spending the next 30 minutes cleaning coffee off the countertop & out of every crevas of this maker, then this is the one for you! We gave it a 2nd & 3rd chance thinking it may be operator error. NOPE, still the mess. It is now back in the box & headed back for a refund. As with any product, some are good & others, well, let's leave that to your imagination.

Pros:
love the coffee |
| Cons:
does not last Purchased just 3 years ago - pricey but figured with the name Cuisinart it would last. The entire bottom has rusted out - called the company and they will not replace. I have a coworker who bought the same unit two months after me and her grinder motor stopped working after a year. So love the coffee just think it should last for more than a few years.
