Pros:  Thin and Light. Good looking.

Cons:  Loaded with so much JUNK (marketing crap), VISTA Sucks. Get Blue screen all the time. I have always been a big Sony fan. I only buy Sony products but after this purchase I am thinking about changing my brand. I liked this laptop because it’s good looking and had some nice features and specs (according to Sony). Battery life is only 1-2 hours when you surf the Internet. It gets stuck all the times and starts with blue screen that says there has been an error. Every time you put it to sleep or hibernate, it just doesn’t wake up until you force shutdown and restart. I am very disappointed with the quality. It might be good looking but plastic is just so awful and cheap quality. I think Sony needs to do a better job and keep their reputation good by not assembling their products in China. I cant express my disappointment through this review but I hope it’ll help other buyers.

Best notebook, period.

Pros:  light weight, core 2 duo, 15.4" wide screen, dvds look amazing, Av controls, next generation wireless G, cd-dvd rewriteable, very quite, lots of memory

Cons:  battery life, no blueray, speakers are alright I've had this notebook for almost a month now, simply the best. This is my first notebook but I did my research for a long time, about a year and a half. I am very picky person when it comes to computers and I've always wanted a slim light weight laptop and hated the big bulky pc and the annoying wires. This computer is a core 2 duo 1.8ghz, thats really 3.6ghz all together, plus two cpu for any multi tasker. 2038 ddr ram, to load up the New windows vista premeium. 200 gigs of storage, (but really you'll be left with at least 140 gigs, cause you'll want to make yourself two recovery dics plus all the crap you dont need that sony puts in the computer). I actually managed to get 15 gigs by getting most of those crappy programs out plus lower your system recovery memory. The best thing I like about it is the wireless g lan that is built in and very powerful when connecting because of the core 2 duo. Watching dvds with the x-brite 15.4 " wide screen looks amazing. I can burn my favorite music or movies with its cd/dvd rewriteable drive. Also Weighs under 7 lbs. and under an 1"1/2 in thickness. This computer is very quite too. I've used other laptops before, and some are very noisey when you're using them, like if you wre using a big pc.

The only cons is the battery life. But I've found out if you change the battery performance to power save, you'll manage to get at least 2 1/2 hours, it depends what you use it for, I was surfing the web and using the windows media player. I really wanted a blue-ray, but it would have been too expensive. Speakers are alright, but again its a laptop and not a surround sound system, but you can hook up some nice bose speakers on the microphone outlet for some true surround sound.

Overall I Really like this notebook, and again I did my research and was about to get an HP for under a grand, but I've heard they are noisey and slow with the new Vista. I got this notebook for about $1,450, at Best Buy, but now its gone down to $1,299.99, whatever. I'm just getting used to the Windows Vista, but its way better than XP. So if you are a student like me and will be using this for school and for personal use, best deal for you. If you are gaming freak, dont get this, thats why theres PS3 and Xbox 360, or get a life. Yeah it might be pricey, but again, its a Sony Vaio, no other notebook out there compares.
