Cons:
Audessy configuration, complexity of menus I'm very happy with this receiver. Lots of power and very clean sound. The THX Games setting is awesome when playing Halo...sometimes I actually hear people sneak up behind me. You really need to hunt through the menus (and the manual) to find all the settings that need tinkering. I found the Audessy speaker configuration to hurt more than it helped, especially with low frequency settings. (You'll need to hunt to find the menu to turn that off, but it may be worth the hunt for you). It also gives the option (if you can find it) of sending L-R LFEs to the subwoofer...a nice option you don't always see. You can tinker with every frequency range for every speaker, and save different settings for different inputs. I've cranked this thing for hours and hours on 4ohm speakers and it stays barely warm to the touch. Although the remote control is complicated, I find it is the ONLY one I have that can actaully control everything in the system. Works great with the Onkyo iPod dock, but doesn't work well with the EZ-Sync option of Panasonic TVs. Note that if you have 4ohm front speakers, this receiver specifically forbids bi-amping 4ohm speakers.
