| Cons:
Fragile Screen The GPS is very accurate and easy to use. The screen is very fragile. It has lots of convenient features. It's nice that it shows water; it helps to find places to fish. The unpved road feature can lead into overgrown, no longer existant roads in the woods. The size is nice, for portability in the good old pocket. It would be perfect if it were waterproof.

up to date maps I bought the unit after shopping around for several days. I bought this one because of the price v/s the functions of the unit. very easy to use right out of the box with little or no instruction from the manuel. the only down side of the unit is that from time to time it will call a street name the wrong name but really no big deal.I think the maps are not really up tp date and for the extra 100 bucks I didnt need it to tell me the road to turn onto it shows the street on the map the next step up model will do that but to each their own. I would recomend this unit to anyone get alot bang for the buck.........

Nothing Get to Sears ASAP! They will price match any and every offer you can find for this product. i just got $100 off my brand new nuvi 200. No other store I visted even came close. We searched for weeks for the best deal and the last place we looked went above and beyond our expectations. FYI Wal-Mart sucks!!! They refused to price match thier own website. Is this some kind of sick and twisted joke? One price on the store shelf and another online. The purpose of this story is to open the eyes of the masses. Wal-Mart is not the final answer! There are alternatives; take some time and do your homework. Ask questions and use your brain. Your wallet will thank you later... The end!

| Cons:
Sometimes signal goes out Can't beat GPS for the price. I don't personally need a unit that announces which street to turn on because the street name is on the screen. Not worth the extra $100. I was driving in Dallas and did notice the signal would go out when I drove under overpasses. But the XM radio signal goes out as well. This device gets me from point A to B and that's what I need, nothing more.

Maps in rural areas not up to date, only lists businesses that are over 2 years old My buddy made me stop on the way home after we got lost out of state. I picked it up for $250(at the time they were going for $350) at a 2-day sale at Best Buy. It's really simple to operate and the screen is bright enough to see in bright sunlight. I'd like to get an updated map for rural areas and an updated business list, but I really can't complain. For the money, you can't beat it. I even picked one up for my Mom last X-mas and she loves hers.

Latest Maps I bought this GPS device due to the inexpensive cost of it. It is really helpful, but I think that is probably pretty typical for new GPS users. It is cool to drive wherever you want and can always find your way back to where you want. But in my area (Austin, TX) the preloaded maps are not as accurate as I would have expected from a new (Dec 2007) unit. There are roads and tollroads that do not show up on the device. It is a very affordable unit for the entry level GPS buyer.

Pros:
small device with maximuml screen size |

Cons:
Mostly accurate, somewhat out of date maps I admit I bought my Garmin on a whim. If I had to do it again I would shop around more. The device was initially easy to use right out the box with a minimum of need for the instruction booklet for basic usage. It came with a car charger and mounts for the car dash or windshield, but no carrying case or house charger. You may wish to access the Garmin website for a software update after you get the device running, but I found no change in the devices performance before or after the update. You will need to purchase an additional cable to do so. There is no mention on the site if or how often maps are updated. it does list multiple accessories and other country maps you can purchase for your Garmin. When driving, the satellite locating feature has difficulty in urban areas as it seems to need an unobstructed view of the horizon or it becomes confused and is constantly "recalculating" your location and driving directions. In suburban areas, this problem resolves and the maps are mostly accurate in that they get you to the general area you are trying to reach. If you know the exact address of your destination, in my experience the Garmin will get you there. if you don't know the address, the "Where to" feature locates some businesses and landmarks for you. Some are located more frequently than others, I assume this is either due to the software being out of date or which businesses are supported by Garmin. Using the "where to" feature, often I find it doesn't find the entrances to shopping or entertainment centers and you have to backtrack after passing the entrances. Voice guided driving instructions DO NOT announce road names, only Stay right/left, Turn right/left etc... The screen does give the names of the upcoming roads, but you'll have to take your eyes off the road to seem them. Overall, the Garmin is helpful if you are completely lost or unfamiliar with a region or destination. I have also found the detour function helpful one of the three times I used it. I would recommend looking into the other models and manufactures and compare reviews before making a purchase. Also remember not to leave it in the car as they are a hot item for car smash and grab this year.

Pros:
good for areas that you don't know |
|
|
|
| Cons:
Does not say the street names, only turn left/right-and how many miles to do the turns I almost really like this system, but would prefer one that speaks the streets not just the turns. I have to look on the system as I drive to see the street information

Large Screen For easy use |
|
|
|
Cons:
Takes a while to start up I have had my "Garmin nuvi 200 "only a few months but I think it is great.Easy to see with the large screen and nice to have the name of the street just in case you miss on what was being said. I love the way it re-sets itself in case you miss a turn. I haven't had any problems. I bought mine at Wal-mart as they have the best price, I think.
