Pros:
Neat integration with the head unit |
| Cons:
Echo on remote phone makes unit unusable Wow, this unit may have an echo-canceling microphone, but it clearly doesn't work. Remote callers can't carry on a conversation. It's not worth the time it took to install it.

Cons:
high level of echo makes it unusable I read the reviews on this product, and knew about echo problems going into it. Some people had these problems, some didn't. I can only tell you about my own experience ... Installed this unit in a '98 Honda Odyssey, connected to an Alpine iDA-X001 deck. The unit integrates and plays well with the iPod interface; it also integrated reasonably well with a Motorola Razr. I have heard that the unit works better with Motorola phones than those from other vendors. The main problem is the echo heard by any callers. They basically hear their own voice back, delayed by approximately 1/2 second. The echo is as loud as the driver's voice, and annoying enough to render the unit unusable. Unit was professionally installed; after repeated visits to the installer, and calls to Alpine, we have tried assorted mic positions, to no avail. All options are now exhausted, and Alpine's attitude is "tough". So that's a couple of hundred bucks down the drain ... :-(
