LG BH100 Blu-Ray & HD DVD Player

Product Description

Blending the latest technologies and offering unprecedented flexibility to consumers seeking the convenience of playing both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD high-definition content, LG Electronics, a leader in consumer electronics and mobile communications, offers the groundbreaking "Super Multi Blue" Player.

This advanced dual-format high-definition disc player, LG model BH100, is the first player on the market with the capability to play both next-generation disc formats. The new player is ideally suited to LG's expanded lineup of Full HD 1080p plasma and LCD HDTVs, delivering best video possible in the highest display resolution format.

In addition to offering Full HD 1080p picture quality from high-definition discs, the player incorporates interactive functions based on BD-Java, which allows advanced menus and functions to be displayed over the video of Blu-ray discs. And, while the same level of advanced menu interactivity is not available while playing HD DVD discs, the powerful combination of Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD audio-video playback technologies is like no other on the market.

The strikingly designed unit incorporates elegant and easy-to-use backlit touch sensor buttons along with an ergonomic remote control that delivers an effortless command of the next-generation home entertainment experience.

Pros:  Good if you have compatable TV

Cons:  Paid too much and not compatable with my Sharp LC52D92U TV After spending months researching my sharp LC52D92U TV I decided to compliment it with the most expensive Combo Blu-Ray and HD dvd player on the market! Well to my amazment it is not compatable at 1080P only 1080I. Nowhere did I read that there they were not compatable! If you are spending top dollor on cutting edge equipment you should list what is and what isn't compatable so you don't make the same stupid mistake I did. I am blaming both Sharp and LG and will not purchase any of their equipment in the future!!!!!!!

Think twice, A Blu-Ray drive for ur PC is better!

Pros:  Good quality, small but very smart, blend perfectly in the living room.

Cons:  None, so far. Just purchase a new hi-def T.V and change my old dvd player for the LG BH100. It`s an eye catching player, very elegant with it`s easy-to-use backlit touch sensor buttons* looks like an alienware product.Image quality is crystal clear and sound is just awesome. I don`t have any surround sound system but I have a virtual 5.1 wireless headphone. Trinity`s moves seems to be too real(opening fight scene `The Matrix`). What else? Very cool option on the remote, angle and more.....depends also on disc. If you are looking for a player for the living room or home use it seems that the LG BH100 is the perfect choice. But on the other hand the fast growing demand and curiosity around the HD DVD and Blu-Ray disc won`t last long. Very soon there`s gonna be a huge choice of HD DVD and Blu-Ray Drives for computers. Personally I like the LG but I want to be able to use it for professional use also.(Store personal or business files) which I lack for now. But like I said it`s a very good and elegant player for the living room. A very friendly remote with lot of options. I thought I invited the Watchoski Brothers to explain their theories the other night after some beers a aha aha ah.........
( Extra on the making of the Matrix HD DVD)
