Pros:  Great Picture, Dual Media: Tape & SD Memory, Price

Cons:  Button controls awkward. Short battery life. I bought this camera only a few days before a trip to Seattle. With very limited opportunity to familiarize myself with the product, I was amazed at how easy it was to use.

I'm a techy kind of guy which means that I appreciated a lot of the functions on the camera. One that I found quite useful was the ability to take a picture while recording. I also took some shots of the fireworks recently and the shots came out perfect...the still shots.

Getting the video off the camera can be a bit of a challenge. You will need a fire wire connector on your pc. I did not have one but I do now.

The sound quality is amazingly clear. I was in different settings from conference room to street performers and quality surprised me.

You may want to buy an additional battery. The one that came with the camera didn't last very long. I scrambled looking for a battery the day before I left and found a 3rd party version for about $25.

Overall all I am completely satisfied. No buyer’s remorse for me. The only remorse I have is that I didn't buy it sooner.

THE ABSOLUTE WORSTE PRODUCT

Pros:  NONE

Cons:  EVERYTHING I expected great things from Canon, but this product sickens me. I am stuck with this 300$ chunk of cheap plastic combined with a few pieces of glass. Don't let the USB port fool you. The USB port does NOT allow interface with your computer. You will need a DV cable, which is conveniently not mentioned anywhere on the front box, nor is it supplied in the kit. What exactly is the USB port even there for? I give this product 1 star, only because negative broken 3 sided stars aren't an available choice. If you bought this product that also does not come with any type of MMC, or tape, then you have been bamboozled. I know that I will spend the next 6 months working off what this useless stone, painted with knock-off discounted fingernail polish cost me. Canon, I am very disappointed, and unsatisfied with this product.
