Pros:
User Interface, Zune All You Can Eat Pass, Large Screen, Wi-Fi, FM Tuner, Zune Marketplace, Album Art |
|
|
|
| Cons:
Battery Life, No Click Wheel I bought my Zune because I broke my 60GB while running @ the track. I wanted to try something new and instantly fell in love with it. It completely blows the Ipod away. I'll never buy another Ipod for me or anyone else for that matter. I recommend Zune as the official Mp3 player of choice.

non well let me tell you.. at first i wanted the ipod.. then my girlfriend told me about this zune device that just came out.. i went to see it at a electronic store... i liked it.. but i was still debating on what to get for christmas. ipod has allready a good reputation.. BUT i decided to go with the zune.. and let me tell you.. IT was the best choice.. i really prefer the zune than the ipod.. it is much nicer and easier to use.. the zune software is easiler then the ipod.. zune has a bigger screen and more great features.. i have to say that i am very proud of it and will take a zune over the ipod in a second.. I showd it to my peers at work who ahve ipods and they love the zune.. they say that that would deffently get it over a ipod.. GOOD CHOICE!

Pros:
ease of use, features, screen size, construction, intergrates with XBOX360 |
|
|
|
| Cons:
battery life This device is such a good buy, I haven't had an ounce of buyers remorse since I got it. I'm not elitroncally proficient by any means but the Zune is so easy to synchronize and customize. I love the fact that it intergrates with my XBOX360 perfectly. It even charges off the 360. Packaging is perfect and it truly feels like you got your moneys worth. Only wish it came with a car, or outlet charger for the road but what can you do.

Pros:
Large Screen, Battery Life, Wi Fi, FM Tuner, Colors, Option of updating software instead of having to buy the latest models to upgrade. |
|
|
|
Cons:
Music Marketplace Selection, Some issues with license protected music and videos. I received my Zune about 3 weeks ago as an early Birthday present, I must say that I am toally in support of the Zune. Unlike other players Zune will be updated via software (firmware) so you won't have to go out and buy a "new" model each time you want a software upgrade. Will Zune bring out new models yes most likely BUT you won't be "forced" to buy it for the new features it does. The battery lasts longer than I expected even with video playing. One of the main reasons I got the Zune is its ability to tune into one of my radio stations and broadcast over any stereo I want it to. That means that no matter where I am at, home, car, office I can listen to my favorite MPs and share all the videao I want to. They still have some work to do on the software but they are working on it such as pretty soon they will offer games and such that you can play on it and you can get them simply by DL the latest software update which is always free of charge. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

Pros:
Huge Beautiful Horizontal Screen When Watching Movies. Unique MP3 Player That Comes In Many Cool Colors. Durable. Fingerprintless surface. Good Battery Life. FM Radio Built-In. Has Wi-Fi To Search Other Zunes |

Cons:
CANNOT USE AS A HARDRIVE, Bulky And Chunky, NOT User-Friendly Software. Long Downloading Time For Big Files. Wi-Fi Function Is Limited Only To Use By Finding Other Zune-Users I've had my Zune for 6 months now and the biggest problem with this MP3 player is the software, it's horrible. I've had a 20GB Ipod and it was the easiest thing to use in the world, software and control wise. Getting the Zune and the PC to work together is one awkward task. Especially if there are some songs that you want excluded from your library. The software really takes out the fun of having a MP3 player because you'll be spending most of your time trying to work around the software instead of the software trying to work around you. The Zune software reads a user's library automatically and memorizes it on its own zune software and to be able to add songs you must keep everything on your computer forever.
First, having to add songs to the Zune is only done through playlist or folders and once you add it to the Zune it's annoying to add more because if you have deleted those songs from your computer then your out of luck with putting them back on your Zune with the new
song.
Also, I had a really hard time with certain album art that was showing up on the wrong songs, so I had to delete all the songs that gave me trouble and then recopy them from the CD and re-tag the song files with the right pictures so they would show up properly.
Then, In the beginning I sooner or later figured out how to work around all of the annoying problems of Auto Syncing with my Zune and my PC and all the setting were dead on right for me. I downloaded a big update and it reset my Zune so I lost everything and I had to start all the way from the beginning with my song playlist and
folder...that sucked bad!
The Zune is pretty new but I was able to buy a wall charger, car charger and it used an aftermarket connection cable from the Zune to the PC and once I started using the PC cable it always started reading my Zune as a guest to my PC and then for me to start using the cord I had to delete everything and re-sync my Zune with my PC using the new cord.
Here's a big one with me. My 20GB Ipod didn't have video or a color screen but I was able to use it as a portable hardrive and always use to transfer data from me and my friends computer but the Zune will NOT let you do that at all. That was a VERY big dissappointment.
Transfering Movies to the Zune takes forever, for example a 300MB MP4 file will take about 30 - 45 minutes. I've seen a Video Ipod transfer the same data in almost 2-3 minutes.
The last thing, is that when I had my 20gb Ipod hooked up to my PC I was able to play my music from my Ipod through my PC but now when I hook up the Zune to the computer, that is completely impossible to do. I guess that happens because the Zune software expects you to keep every song that has been downloaded/sync'ed to your Zune on your computer.

Pros:
All you can eat ZUNE PASS |
|
|
|
| Cons:
Battery life I bought an Ipod 30 gig for my fiance for Christmas. While we were watching tv, we saw a program that talked about the new Zune. We both looked at each other and knew this was the superior product. I took the Ipod back and got the Zune for him and gave it to him before Christmas. I was soooo impressed with it that I ditched my own 6gb mp3 player (which I was completely satisfied with before seeing the Zune) and had to have one of my own. Is it possible to fall in love with gadget, because this thing is awesome. Especially for music lovers who spend tons of money on cds...invest in the monthly Zune pass and download all the music you want. I have to pace myself, it's like being a starving person at an all you can eat buffet. The radio is a definate plus for those of us who use this function at the gym. It is slighly larger in size/scale to the Ipod, but you are getting more functions. So worth the $$$. Move over Ipod.

Worst customer service experience ever! My 18 year old daughter bought the 30GB Pink Zune and after a year the hard drive stopped working. It was still under Warranty and Customer Support sent me a box and shipping label to have it repaired. Sent the device in and when they received it the LCD screen was cracked. They refused to repair the device and denied fault for the damage saying because the box was not damaged the device could NOT have been damaged during shipping, basically calling me a Liar!!! All levels of customer support were rude and unwilling to do anything about it. The worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Too big and thick (can barely fit in your pocket) I own an 30 brown Zune I got on black fiday I had always wanted a Zune until the new Ipods came out but then I realized that the zune compared to some Ipods (not including the touch and iphone) it would kick some but I am 10 years old and think that the Zune is pretty cool except that the size coul be smaller and thinner.

Pros:
Screen size, Sound quality for MP3's, Customized background, Over all style and design. |
|
|
|
| Cons:
SLIGHT static on radio at times, Using device with software is a little difficult at first. For those who are anti-ipod (which I am) this is one of the best MP3 players out there for you. I have been looking for a new MP3 player for the past two months and I have been interested in the Zune since it came out. For the past 2 weeks I have been researching the Zune to see if it was worth the trouble and for the most part I heard it was really good but there had been a few reviews that left me concerned. The biggest problem I heard was in concern to the software not being user friendly and confusing. At first I agreed with this but after ten minutes of poking around I figured it out but the key thing is to be patient because the software doesn't have your typical "spoon-fed" tutorial that tells you every single button to press and link to click (if you use common sense then you should be fine). The best thing to do is to install the software but do not plug in the device untill you adjust the software's settings to NOT auto-sync so you can just pick and choose what music to add (that's just a matter of draging and dropping the music/video/picture to the device symbol at the bottom left corner). I really like the video quality, images and videos are really crisp and vibrant. The over all design is really nice, simple yet chic. I really enjoy the fact that you can set your background to any of your pictures on the device. I think it's an understated feature that adds a lot to the personalization of the Zune. Lastly I have found that sometimes I will pick up a little background static in the radio feature, not loud enough to drown out the music and it's really only noticeable if you have the volume up pretty loud. Over all though I think that this is an awesome device and would recommend it to anyone except maybe those who are accustomed to Ipods (those are the people who generally don't like it so I've notticed). Also I would recommend that you upgrade the earbuds to the premium kind, they sound great and even though they are not noise-canceling they are the closest I have come to it.
