Product Description
FIRST, commercially available global 3G device of its kind. The card is a tri-band (850/1900/2100 MHz) UMTS/HSDPA (Universal Mobile Telephone System/High Speed Downlink Packet Access) device that has a unique retractable antenna design, making it the world's first UMTS/HSDPA data card that doesn't need to be removed from the notebook computer during transport. Cons:
antenna sucks This is the second one , the first one was just plain defective the first week of use. Cingular replaced it. I have tryed to use the second one for about the last 3 months now. The antennas has popped out one two many times while in the laptop bag and at other inconvenient times. And has nearly gotten broken off on numurious occassions. The signal it recieves is always almost to week. Tryed to find an external antenna to make use of the external antenna connection, so has to use an antennas like on the Serria Card. Forget that the plug size is of an odd size. Then was just going to put some tape over the butterfly antenna thing! (LOL). Called cingular and they have no clue were to find a plug to make use of the connection port. Checked the Globe Trotter Option max web site no luck there either. So I give up I will be heading to the cingular store first thing in the morning to make them swap it out for the Serria Model.
