Pros:  Features, Sound and Price

Cons:  Differences in user interface and some glitches I got the chance to test out both the Sansa e280 and the Sansa e280R (Best Buy version) w/Rhapsody.

Here is what some comparisons and differences. First off, they look the same on the outside. The only difference is some branding on the back. Both come with the same accessaries in the box. The e280 comes with setup disk v. 1.3 and the e280R comes with setup disk 1.0 (Best Buy version though). Features on it are almost the same except the e280R comes with Rhapsody Channels. Apon looking through the menu did notice that the GUI on the e280 isn't as crisp at the e280R which was alittle disappointing. I am surprised that both don't have clean text on them because everything else (like the icons) looks clean cut.

Sound is a biggie and by far on both they are good. I do notice on both players that there is a very low player noise when navagating through the menu or going from track to track. The e280 comes with preset EQ's and a custom EQ feature. The e280R has the same preset EQ's but no custom EQ feature unfortunately.

So far there have not been any problems with battery life drainage (18 hrs or so for me)or transfering music files to the players (which has been simple) or really any major issues at all that tells me my purchase of The Sandisk Sansa e280 or e280R was a bad one. I recommend this over the iPod for a few reasons but I know it's hard to sway people from the ever so popular player that everyone "must" have.

Only differences I see price wise right now during or not during the holiday season is that you can get a e280 online for around $200 but because the e280R is exclusively only at Best Buy the average price right now is $250 but I'd be surprised if they lowered it to $200 and if they do, BUY IT there because that's a heck of a deal for this type of mp3 player!

Pros:  Long Battery Life

Cons:  Doesn't Hold Enough Music I bought one of these about 3 months ago. I was looking locally and having a hard time finding an mp3 player that wasn't going to cost a fortune.

I love how long the battery life is on this and how fast it recharges either from your computer or car charger.

This mp3 player is also very easy to use and navigate around. One great feature is having FM Radio built into this. You can save your fav stations and go to them when you want a break from your music.

Tech support is also very helpful if you happen to think you messed up your player, they can fix you up in a few mins of your time. Overall if your looking for a good mp3 player thats going to stand the test of time, I'd get one of these.

Pros:  battery life, features, appeal

Cons:  no support for refurbs The required software does not come with the refurbished models!
If you buy a refurb, you should know:

The word REFURB is cast in metal on the back cover plate.

You will have to download and print your owner's manual. It has some good instructions you have to have.

You have to have Windows Media Player 11 to operate.

You have to download Arcsoft Media Converter for Sansa. -to load pics or video to your sansa.

I still can't rip a cd to my device. but it may be a problem with my pc settings. It is very picky about audio file formats, though. mp3's are fine, any other file format may not work.

The player itself works really well though. I bought 2 of them, one for my fiance. Battery life is really good so far. The fm radio feature is really cool and works well.

more features and lower price than Ipod nano, but without the support and itunes. (itunes won't work with sansa)

Pros:  Not many....

Cons:  Everything! I got this mp3 player when my Creative Zen mp3 (which was fabulous) player stopped working. The minute I opened the box, I could tell I didn't like this mp3 player nearly as much. It feels very flimsy, and the wheel can be hard to turn at times. Also, the sound doesn't go very loud; most other mp3 players I've seen are at least 30% louder than this one. The one thing that I liked about it when I read descriptions was that it held video, however the mp3 player and my computer don't format together for video so this feature is completely useless to me!! Overall, the price of the mp3 player is completely ludicrous for the mediocre quality that it provides, and I would not recommend this mp3 player.

Pros:  Overall great, good price, slim and shiny look, better than nano, stirdy feeling.

Cons:  No playlists I love this mp3 it's so cool. It is way better than the nano because the scroller doesn't wear out as easily. I would highly reccomend it. It never froze on me or did anything bad and i've had it for a year and a half. Overall great, BUY IT!!!!

Pros:  cool features, such as radio and recording

Cons:  horrible software/transferring system The sansa e280 is a great mp3 player. I really liked the free music trial, and all of the features that ipods don't include, such as radio, recording, and how you can add songs to your playlist from your mp3 player (with a subscription).

However, tranferring music wasa horrible proccess. I only managed to get it "connected" with the software twice, and it was very slow. So in the end I returned it, because I could never be sure when it would work on my computer next. :P

Pros:  Good Sound, Easy to Use

Cons:  Glitches, Freezes a Lot, Completely Broke At first, I loved it! I was using rhapsody, and it was great. But then, it erased my songs, and I couldnt figure out how to put vids and pics on. It says you can, but you really cant. Then, my device completely crashed! I tried formatting it, and creating a new account. I hated it. Absotlutely loathed it. It wouldn't turn off, and I had to set it upside down until the battery died! DO NOT BUY THIS!

Pros:  Fm Tuner, Voice recorder, Radio recorder and Custom EQ

Cons:  Video quality isn't that great, could use a full aluminum casing. THIS MEDIA PLAYER IS GREAT. The battery life is fantastic. Although you can't play movies, the video quality isn't so great. And you get no playback after a video. The great thing is, is the voice recorder and the FM tuner. If you were to have/get a FM tuner and a Voice Recorder for a iPod, you would have to spend an extra $100 for it. This neet little gadget is soo great.

I noticed that the back is aluminum or steel, but the face is plastic. Thats the major problem. It could use a aluminum face and a glass display for less scratches. But overall, it a VERY nice deal for a 8Gig.

Pros:  more feature than ipod , light up wheel blue was cool

Cons:  cant create your own playlists, disgustingly bas software go for ipod nano its half the weight and thickness , u can easily make playlists with itunes, and it has the best in class sound qualtiy. trying to organize music on this is very annoying., in the end i returned it.

Great design, bad sound quality

Pros:  Price, interface, USB drag and drop, looks

Cons:  Sound quality, poor bass response. This player had pretty much everything I was looking for in a player: it was the right price, felt great in my hand, had a bright screen with an easy to navigate menu, and transferred files with no clunky software needed.

But it sounded really bad. After trying to get used to the sound for a week I ended up returning it. The EQ is not musical at all, and the bass response out of the player is pathetic. Boosting the low end on the EQ just results in distortion. I was able to get a decent sound by lowering all the OTHER frequencies and then turning the overall volume up, but after listening to my friend's Creative player I decided that i shouldn't have to put up with it that way. It should sound good out of the box.
