Pros:
looks nice |
Cons:
driver and program flaws I'm still trying to figure out WHY microsoft felt the need to upgrade from xp. Xp was a stable wnoughOS and although vista looks pretty enough , you cant justify £369 for something being pretty. This was released far too early especially when they got all the negative feedback from people using the beta products.
Driver and program incapabilities , crashing , the list goes on and on.
i dont see the point of vista for any other thing than bill gates to make more money , doesnt he have enough as it is ??????

Pros:
Ease of use, stable os for just being released |
Cons:
hefty hardware requirements This is a sweet OS. Using it for 2 weeks without any issues. The installation of the OS is a lot easier than in the past. For all the people that are complaining about incompatible drivers and programs, please think back to when Win XP was released. The same exact thing happened. Given time companies will catch up.
Very stable OS. Have not had a crash as of yet nor have I had any issues installing any programs that I was using on Win XP.
Worth the money and upgrade.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Nice Look & Feel, Nice Effects |
| Cons:
Hardware Requirments, Eats Up Laptop Batteries Fast Worth every dollar you spend. Great interfaces and voice command. Really easy to use and have the abillity to see whos on you wireless network. It eats up your laptop's battery very, very fast. No need for a DVD codec, Windows Media Center will play DVDs for you without 3rd party software. iPod users will be able to use the current verison of iTunes without any problems.

Slow, incompatable and massively exspensive The computability issues with existing software are so bad with vista that even Win32 emulation under Linux works better that Vista.

Pros:
Interface, ease of use, amazing speech recognition, security, features. |
Cons:
Price, very few program incompatibilities, needs alot of hardware It's amazing! The new interface, the security, everything.
When u have a problem, it solves it for you automatically.
Also, the new type of search and indexing is just amazing. Start menu is great and easy to use.
Until now, I only have 3 programs that are incompatible with it. However, all my hardware are 100% compatible and most of them do not need drivers on Vista.
In conclusion, I loved vista and If u have the money, it's totally worth it!

| Cons:
It doesn't have DOS and its made by microsoft. Personally I hate it. Not just because it is made by Microsoft, because of the poor planning. The only way its possible to have a stable operating system right after it is released is if it is Linux. Honestly keep XP if you are running it or whatever older version of windows your running. Even if you are running Windows 3.1 keep it Vista is not worth the money.

Pros:
Very nice user interface. I love how it looks. More organized and easier to use 'Start' menu. More features than XP. |
Cons:
Sticky/Filter keys issues with VAIO Laptop. Eats up battery life. Needs a hefty computer to use it. Still needs a few bugs worked out. Overall, this OS is one of the best I've seen. XP comes close to this one because of its almost virtually flawless features. But this left it in the dust with its user interface, features and easy-to-use setup. A from me.

Pros:
Beautiful User Interface, *UAC, Stable, Secure, Versitile, Improved Parental Control |
Cons:
Less User Friendly, Resource Intensive, *UAC, My Specs: Processor: Pentium D 3.0GHZ, Memory: 1GB DDR2 PC3200, Hard Drive: WD SATA 160GB, Video: nVidia GeForce 6200 AGP 256MB - For those not familliar with how to understand the specs, let's just say that I don't have the most impressive setup available BUT it does the job well. Even though one may take the time to see that the minimum system requirements are met I honestly couldn't see someone enjoying their computing experience using such a basic configuration. I'm Running Vista Ultimate up from XP Pro SP2 and I'm quite pleased with all the security and stability features added to this release of windows. Although Vista looks and runs beautifully, and allows use of lots of 32bit software titles on a 64bit system, it does NOT support all hardware and software. - I rate Vista a 4 of 5 because I feel like it's a more solid OS than XP, and there's no turning back now. It's going to continue to grow and evolve and become more refined and more mainstreamed and will eventually be fully supported so you might as well get used to seeing it around. *UAC ( User Account Control ) allows you to control system altering changes that may occur and allow or prevent them.
