Pros:
An affordable all in one machine for those on a budget |
Cons:
A bit bulky; better explanation of how features work. This is my fourth Canon product and my third Canon printer since 1994.
This is a good printer.fax.scanner.copier for those on a budget who need a fax machine also and need the ability to save money when buying ink cartridges.
The basic text print is excellent. Color printing is bright and clear. When one makes a copy, it can be barely distinguished from the original.
The dual paper trays are a plus. The software is easy to use.
The interface to switch from copier, to fax, to scanner is wonderful and easy to use, it just takes a while to get use to it.
There are no card slots for the various digital camers data cards, only a usb plug from camera to photo printing.
This is a fine machine for someone that just wants something to work efficiently without the frills.
The price on this was great also. Canon has a Loyalty Program of which I was able to join and it got me an extra 10% off the final price when I directly purchased it from Canon.

Pros:
Easy to use, great copies and excellent print speed |
| Cons:
expensive inks I find the machine to be easy to use, not difficult to setup, in fact it was quite easy. The ink is an issue, as it is with all Canon printers. However, Canon quality is excellent. Faxing was good and the copying was fine. For what you pay for this unit, it is a great deal. I compared this machine to many other brands and models and this come out on top. Consumer Reports also find this machine to be very good.

Pros:
Batch scanning and PDF conversion |
| Cons:
Haven't found any yet Tremendously easy to set up, but my fvorite part is batch scanning, and then having them converted to email attachments, or saved to PC as a PDF file. I am in real estate and the contracts get moved around constantly for signatures and initials. Faxing has been a problem, as it gets reduced almost every time, and then you are at the mercy of the recipients machine for clarity. With the email attachment conversion - just a click of a button!!! - I can easily be sure the the transfer of information is clear and easy to read. Almost everyone has an email address so I don't have to wait for people tp pick up things from a neighbor, or turn their fax machine on. I can't believe how inexpensive of a machine this was for the functions that it provides! Very highly recommended!!!

| Cons:
Very small ink cartage It was very hard to set up and use. Had to have manual out all the time. Copies were very poor, faxing was difficult to do. Ink ran out after a very short time. Was not able to go 2 weeks without replacement of the black ink.

Pros:
NONE |

Cons:
EVERYTHING This is a terrible waste of money. Slow, the color management is terrible. Support is lousy. Paper feed is bad, bad, bad. Printing is either too light or the color is so distorted.
