Garmin nuvi 350 GPS Receiver

Product Description

Garmin nüvi is a versatile travel assistant that's approximately the size of a deck of playing cards. The nüvi is a portable GPS navigator, traveler's reference, and digital entertainment system, all in one. Combined with detailed maps, the nüvi provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and finger-touchscreen control - making it easy to find your way anywhere. The unique "text-to-speech" feature calls out turns by street name.

The nüvi also offers a travel kit of useful travel tools to help keep any journey fun: MP3 player, audio book player, JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, and calculator. In addition, optional software packages such as the Language Guide and Travel Guide can be added for language and content support.

Pros:  Comes with alot of extra's

Cons:  It's a little slow on start up and sometimes is a bit off on locations Over-all I love this thing. The pictures on the screen are great. The screen even changes color during diffent times of the day. The background is white during the day and black at night. This saves your eyes from getting burned out at night. It is easy to set up and I plugged it in and set it up in less then 10 minutes after leaving the store. All US and Canada maps are built in. Including all kinds of waypoints. I live in a small town and im impressed by how many places this thing already knows. It does seem a little off on some destinations by several feet but it always gets me in the right area. I beleive it goes off Postal address zones/areas. It shows my house at the begining of the small street I live on, instead of the end, but yahoo maps does that too. I am also using it in a small town and that might be part of the problem. It uses SD cards for the MP3 player. You can also buy preloaded language and book SD cards for it from Garmin. I havent had to deal with Garmin Support yet, but I did download some desktop software for it. It connects to your computer via a USB port.

Pros:  Everything you want and more

Cons:  Some of the features no support given. I absolutely love my Nuvi, however when I tried to load MP3's into it I could not get them to load. No technical support available. I'm not extremely computer savvy but I think some instruction on it's features would be most helpful. It's manual is very vague. If anybody knows how to do this function I would love to hear from you, as I'm still waiting to hear back from Garmin. The satellite's are excellent, I am no longer geographically challenged. Now I'm not afraid to venture too far from home.

Pros:  Compact, Plenty of Accessories, Built in Manual

Cons:  Can only program one additional waypoint per trip I've had this unit for about 3 weeks and it's both a pleasure and a breeze to use. Sometimes it takes a minute to acquire satellite reception, but by the time I get down to the end of my street it is usually up and running. I found the best deal at the time to be through Amazon ($378) total, with no tax and no postage. I've already downloaded several third party "Points of Interest" (POI) files and modified a few. It's a breeze. Naturally, the unit is only as good as the data in it and so far I've only run across to minor discrepancies where the unit directed me around an extra block instead of going the way I knew was shorter. No big deal, because if I had been somewhere unfamiliar, the unit would have gotten me to where I wanted to go and I would have been none the wiser. I LOVE the fact that I can take this GPS out of my car and slip it into my pocket. Too many other "pluses" to mention.
