Doesn't have a camera ; Batteries waste really fast when listening to music and looking at pictures ; I bought this 2 weeks ago and I still have it in its sexy, sleek, black color! The price isn't bad at all knowing that you can play 75 hours of video and hold 25,000 photos, and hold 7,500 songs all on the 30GB iPod. Also, this 30GB iPod is 30% thinner than the old 20GB model! Best iPod yet!!!

Back Cover Smudge's Easily, Hard To Put Video's On This product was great. At first I was worried when I heard that the front scratches easily- (on the black ipod), but that issue is fine if you leave the plastic cover that apple provides you with on the ipod. The storage capacity is excellent. I just got mine today, and i put about 200 songs on it, and it only used up 1gb. The compact design makes it easy to fit in your pocket, and this product is so easy-to-use- me being a first time ipod user.
IMPRTANT INFORMATION(WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY)-
It's hard to put video's on this ipod, but i found a free way to convert your video's file type- just use the: VIDEORA IPOD CONVERTER. It will save you $30 from buying Quicktime Pro 7.
FINAL VERDICT-
Overall, I think this is the best ipod created. I like the fact that it can play video's. THE THING IS THAT THIS IPOD IS STILL MADE TO BE AN MP3 PLAYER PRIMARILY NOT A VIDEO PLAYER PRIMARILY. ALTHOUGH IT CAN PLAY VIDEO'S IT'S PRIMARILY AN MP3 PLAYER! It has a great compact design, a wonderful storage capacity, and is easy-to-use.

Video Lockups, Locks Up Computer, Short Battery Life, Limited Video Controls, Easily Scratched I got an Apple IPod to watch movies on the train between work and home to find that Videos locked it up every time I tried to view a movie or clip. It locked up my computer often. Music sounds great with lots of headroom. The battery Life is not so good. After 1 hour of listening to music, the battery life had used 50% of it's power. And that's not even using video. How could you expect to watch a 2.5 hour movie on it. After 3 days of disapointment at $399 plus tax, when I took it back, I saw that other people were having the same problem, so instead of getting it replaced with another IPod, I got a full refund.

Photo Storage: Has only synchronisation option, which means maintain a folder structure with all the images on your PC always else the next time you upload photos using iTunes, you will end up loosing your photos collection in iPod. Atleast I could figure out this.
iTunes: A sofware not easy to use. A simple software would mean connect your iPod and three buttons to upload songs, photos and videos without touching my existing collection in iPod. Had to research on lots of things.. the xml file, the references in xml file ... uh!!!
Battery Life: Just use the iPod in test conditions as mentioned in the apple site which gives arnd 12 hrs of playback. DARE!!! you touch the wheel and there goes your battery. ufff!!!! Pathetic
Charger: Good way of making money by keeping it as an accessory. Please go ahead and make iTunes, the USB cable and earphones as accessories.. that will be even more fun. We will have a handicapped iPod.
Please tk the pains to give a printed manual descriptive enuf ... enuf of money making...

I would assume it's because of the simple design and the touch sensitive menu system.. Whatever it is, this little thing attracts suckers like me to get one...

scratches waaay to easily, battery life I just bought this last night and I haven't taken my hands off of it. Haha it's enticing me away from busy day today, but I just can't help it. This product is worth buying because it is so simple to use. The video quality is phenominal. One downside of this is that the screen and the rest of the surface of the ipod scratches easily. What ever you do, set it down on something padded/soft so you can keep it scratch-free. Also, the battery life can be a little disgruntling. Make sure you turn off the backlight when it is unneeded because that is the main thing that drains your battery life. Other than those two negative aspects, it is a great mp3 player and i highly recommend it to anyone.

only plays 2 hours of videos, maybe less. Can't put dvd's on the ipod unless you buy a converter for about 30 dollors. Dose not come with a wall charger, it comes with a charger for your computer. So you can only charge it at your house. A wall charger cost 30 dollers. Great ipod,best yet. I have this ipod and one video about 5 minutes long and it takes one fourth of the battery to watch it. A video I downloaded from itunes is 22 minutes long and dose not take it dow that much. It only last 2 hours with videos from itunes, not one off the internet. It is 45 percent thinner than the origional 20 gig. It comes with a white case that covers the whole thing. You can still turn up the volume through it though. It keeps it from getting scratches and messed up.

battery dies fast I love my new ipod. I have only had it for about two weeks now and I'm in love. The picture as well as the video quality is amazing. It helps me to get through my science course, when I just play an episode of desperate housewives, that I purchased from Itunes, for only 1.99. It's definitely worth purchasing.

waste of my money I got a 30 GB black ipod for christmas. It was bought off of apple.com with a very nice free engraving on the back of it. I thought I was just going to love it, until I opened the box up. I tried to download the software with itunes. It kept encountering problems. Tried all the apple website troubleshooting and nothing. SO I brought it over to my inlaws, thinking I had a problem with my computer, and downloaded the software on his computer, and it didn't even recognize the USB port with the ipod plugged in. Then the damm thing totally froze up on me. I spoke with 6 apple customer service reps, one told me I couldn't return it, one told me I could through a fed ex shipment, and he would e-mail me the fed ex shipping info within 24 hours, waited 48 hours and nothing. No e-mail. Spoke to another rep who told me that apple didn't use FED ex to ship, and didn't know who told me that. (NONE of the APPLE reps have ID numbers or phone extensions). Finally got to someone who told me that I could send it back with a refund. Got the e-mail, sent it back, now waiting for my credit. WE'll see !!!! FOr $300.00 this thing is a piece of *#%$ and there customer service is worthless !!!!!!
