Pros:  Best inkjet prints I have ever seen!

Cons:  The ink is quite expensive. Well,

I bit the bullet and replaced my 2200. The R2400's output is clearly better!
The new inks are wonderful, though being so new, not yet significantly discounted by anyone.

It seems to print faster than the 2200, but this is just my impression, I have not actually timed it yet.

One note - printing the same files, and comparing the color, there is a slight color shift towards green with the new 2400 as compared with my old 2200. Actually, for me this is a good thing, as the 2400's output is much closer to mt Sony monitors than was the 2200.

My initial reaction is that this is a significant step forward. The new color inks look great, Black & white output is absolutely stunning on matte paper (have not tried glossy yet).

About the only down side is paying $13 each for the inks, but hopefully as the printer gains in popularity, they will begin to be discounted,

Pros:  The good: Class-leading black-and-white printing; extremely flexible paper handling; long-lived prints.

Cons:  The bad: Expensive; large footprint; requires that you swap matte-black and photo-black cartridges. The bottom line: The Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer's excellent monochrome printing further solidifies company's hegemony of the enthusiast and professional photo printer markets.

Pros:  Print quality is exeptional & it prints true b&w

Cons:  Drinks ink like a drunken sailor. I purchased mine new on ebay over a year ago for $600, which was a real steal. It worked really good until a month ago when I noticed a plastic piece laying loose in the bottom. Contacted Epson for help and they were no help at all once they found out that it was out of warranty. Told me to contact an authorized service agent for repairs. I just wanted a parts diagram to see where the piece went. Fortunately, I found one on line and was able to fix it my self. I have been buying bulk ink on line and installed refillable cartridges and can't tell any difference in print quality. I do a lot of black and white prints and love the output on 13 x 19 enhansed matt paper. It's a great printer and I have only had the one problem with it.

Pros:  Prints lovely, when it actually prints

Cons:  Guzzles Ink, Doesn't work properly, HORRIBLE customer service I am now on my second R2400 in a 6 month period. Both have worked for a couple of months and then around the 2-3 month mark the same error message started "Media out or not loaded propery"

It took me weeks to get someone knowledgable on the phone. I was told it was an issue with my software. I purchased a newer version of Photoshop to correct the problem. Though I should have known it wasn't a software issue from the beginning because with each printer it printed find for a couple of months using my previous software.

Low and behold the problem has not corrected with the new software. Now I cannot connect at all with technical support. The phone connection is terrible and we cannot hear one another. I have called from many different phones with no luck. I called Epson Headquarters and explained the situation. I explained that originall it had taken me weeks to get a technician on the phone who was actually from headquarters and that I was willing (as frustrating as it is) to start all over with technical support but I cannot get through to them. Basically I was told "too bad".

SO I am left with a second R2400 that doesn't work worth a damn. I have wasted endless amounts of money on ink and paper and lost a lot of money as I have not been able to sell my art prints for over a month.

I will be leaving reviews everywhere I can possibly leave them so that everyone knows what a piece of junk this printer is and even worse, how terrible the service is from Epson.

Save yourself the headache and stay away from Epson!
