Horrible reception capabilities I got this phone on a family share plan with T-Mobile. While my boyfriend's phone choice works fine, I experience static with every call, many dropped calls, and have on numerous occasions been unable to hear others or be heard. Since my boyfriend's service is good, it is rather obvious that it is not the network, but the phone itself. Upon calling and complaining several times, one employee finally gave me the option of returning the phone and exchanging it for another of the same model. When the new v188 came in the mail, it had exactly the same problems. Once again I had multiple calls with customer service, (most of which were unbelievably rude, one woman told me "what do you expect from getting a cheap phone?") and they advised me to switch SIM cards with my boyfriend. STILL wasn't any better. The other day I got in a cab and was complaining about T-Mobile to my friend, when all of the sudden the drive exclaimed, "Yeah T-Mobile is horrible! I get

Pros:
lightweight, easy use. |

|
Cons:
bad duribility, signal, everything, can send and recieve pix but cant take due to no camera. A big ripoff. It is not worth the retail nor discounted price. Freezes up , too small, small screen, easily breakable, too flexible, beeps when the button on the left is pushed while the phone is closed, reguardless of silent mode or not and also beeps when you recive any message...
ITS NOT WORTH IT! DONT BUY IT! (As a matter of fact, dont buy any motorola phones because they wont improve for a long while)

Pros:
small. cheap. |

|
|
| Cons:
poor durability, poor reliability, poor reception I bought the V188 because of it's compact size. I don't need or want a camera phone, so this one was inexpensive - I mean, cheap! I've had 2 quit working entirely within 4 months, and when it does work I drop calls all the time (while my friends in the same network do not). The t-mobile reps claim they haven't heard of any problems with this phone. Based on reviews here and elsewhere, they are either clueless or lying. I miss the voice activated dialing function of my old motorola - the voice activated function on theV188 is useless.

Buttons are slightly recessed Color and graphics are really great, small and compact, easy to use. The buttons are slightly recessed, but are still easy enough to use. Don't be fooled about the voice dialing though, you have to go through several screens to get to the option of using the voice dialing, and you have to do it every time you want to use this feature. And you can only put a few numbers under that option, so pick numbers you can't seem to remember.

No camera :( Umm, this phone I get at $25 from a family plan + some new customer discount.. Overall it's pretty good, not a lot of games that are already there that are fun. Speakerphone is OK, but the signal on the phone is usually at least 3 stars. The battery is good - I left it for 3 weeks without turning it off. No problems yet for me, and I've had it for about 2-3 months. There aren't really a lot of problems. There are a lot of built in ringtones that are pretty good. It can be pretty loud when you want, and there are 9 kinds of volume things - 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Vibrate, and Silent. Overall I think this phone is pretty good, but it could be better.

Keeps freezing up This phone when i first got was okay but slowly but surely the problems started showing up. You'll be talking on the phone and it freezes up and turns off on its own. Im guessing since its new on the market it still has a lot of flaws... crazy flaws but overall good!
