Building on the award-winning performance of the Niles SI-1200, the new Niles SI-1230 offers custom installers more power, more flexibility and an easier installation.By configuring the twelve channels of amplification into six stereo amplifier modules, Niles engineers improved the signal to noise ratio, reduced crosstalk and lowered distortion. Each amplifier channel incorporates its own dedicated BusMatrix selector switch, enabling you to assign each channel to a common left, right or mono signal bus, or to its own dedicated signal input. Independent level controls compensate for room size.
Niles engineers have developed an extraordinary new power supply design with independent secondaries for each amp module. As a result, the SI-1230 total power output is staggering! Even when driven simultaneously, all 12 channels deliver 30 watts RMS into 8-ohms (42-watts per channel into 4-ohms). Bridging adjacent channels enables the amplifier to produce 80-watts into 8 ohms from each bridged pair.
When the SI-1230 is used in multizone systems, only the amplifier module powering the zone in use turns on. The other modules stay muted, eliminating any chance of bleed through to the silenced rooms. When music stops in one zone, the amp module connected automatically mutes after a 3-minute delay.
The SI-1230 can be turned on three different ways: with a newly improved and field tested music sense circuit which activates from even the softest musical passage; voltage turn-on (3-30 volts, AC or DC); or from the front panel.
Each channel incorporates separate thermal and short-circuit protection. An LED status display on the front panel alerts you to problems requiring service.
The SI-1230's redesigned rear panel enables you to connect dual banana plugs into each channel and speeds easing installation.
The fully detachable line cord makes installation easy in the most intricate custom cabinetry.
A special chassis isolation circuit maintains safety and eliminates ground loops without a 3-wire cord or a ground lift switch.
