Pros:  ALL IN ONE

Cons:  NOT FOUND ANY YET Email, Internet, Digital Camera, organizer. My girl friend bought me this early Thanksgiving gift last weekend. She said what did I expect more? I was speechless after I played around with it a whole nite. Yes, this is the one. Way better than the other brand. May be the mini keyboard not looking cool, but it is really easy to type. A cool looking cover for the keyboard will be a plus.

Pros:  form factor, 5way toggle, java script capability, apps

Cons:  screen resolution, no voice recorder, no bluetooth The Treo 600 has just about everything. Phone, PDA/organizer, wireless web, corporate email, digital camera, and mp3 player.

I upgraded from the Treo 300 and am thoroughly impressed with this device. Handspring (now Palm) made some great improvements in the Treo 300 that made a great device exceptional. First, the Treo 600 form factor is more phone-like. I really like the narrower design. It fits better in the hand and is more functional as a phone. The narrower body does not compromise the functionality of the screen size and ability to use the device as a PDA.

Another big improvement is the 5 way toggle button. It really allows you to do almost all phone, pda, web, corporate email, and camera functions with one hand.

The Blazer web browser is very functional. Java script capability has made alot more websites viewable /accessible. Speeds on the Sprint network are approximately 60K. Not fast enough to do a lot of web surfing, but makes the device at least functional as a web access tool. I find I use the web to entertain myself while waiting in lines, long meetings, etc. You can access and make purchases on sites like Amazon. It is also fun to access stocks, business news, etc.

The PDA has all the necessary features. I like the integration of my Outlook contacts to my phone. With a few key strokes, I can dial any of my contacts. No reloading numbers each time you switch phones.

The phone allows you to easily link digital pictures to your contacts so a picture of the person calling you shows on the screen when they call.

The applications for this product seem almost endless. My kids love to play the games (when they can get the Treo out of my hands).

I am able to access all my corporate email real time. The device notifies me when new email has arrived. Now I just need to get out of the office more to take advantage of this.

The MP3 functionality is impressive. The sound quality is great and you can use regular headphones (with a $6 adapter). I have seen a third party combo headphone /telephone set that is made for this device.

Oh, and the sd slot is a huge improvement. I can store photos, mp3 files, extra apps. This has been a real plus even if you don't think you have that many applications to store. I think you will find with all that can be done with this phone, you will definitely want an SD card. I recommend at least 256 mb.

Cons: screen resolution 160x 160. 320x 320 would be better, but to be honest... I think the screen looks great. It is brighter than the T300 and is fine for all apps except viewing the digital camera shots.

The camera shots are fine for sharing over the internet, but not anything you would want to blow up for Mom for Christmas.

It would have been nice to be able to have an integrated voice recorder and bluetooth functionality.

Hope this helps,

bz

The Treo 600 Is the Best of Both Worlds!

Pros:  A Great cell phone and PDA all-in-one!

Cons:  Its outer shell is so SMOOTH, it wants to slip right out of your hand! I have had my Treo 600 for about a month now, and so far so good. I previously had a Samsung I-330, and I could not wait to get rid of that. The I-330 had difficulty being both a phone and a PDA. The Treo 600 does it effortlessly. It's faster, more powerful, and has many more functions and capabilites, than the I-330. I truely possess the best of all worlds.

I have the CDMA version, with Sprint as my service provider. The web browser Blazer works very well with my PCS Vision. I can visit ANY web site, as if I were at home on a computer. No difference!!!

The Treo 600 changes back and forth between applications, and cell phone usage with no problems, even if I receive a call while using an application.

There are a few things that could be improved on though;

The camara is a JOKE, unless you are in broad daylight, with an inanimate subject.

The resolution of the screen is deceivingly low, so even pics downloaded from a REAL digital camara, don't look so great.

The phone is small and rectangular, with a very smooth outer shell. It continues to say, "Drop Me!" as you try to hold it in your hand, like a bar of wet soap.

The keyboard is a nice touch, when it comes to text messaging, but the buttons are just a little bit too small. But since the size of the phone is perfect, I guess I can get used to it.

Because it runs OS 5, most applications, especially games, which were made for OS 3.2, will not run well on the phone. So you have to upgrade those applications, or purchase new ones.

Finally, because of the unusual size, currently there are no holsters available for it. I have searched the internet, but no one has a good belt-clip type carrying case in stock. So I can't carry it around, like a cell phone.

Any way, overall its a great cell phone/PDA, and all I have to say is "Good Job, Handspring!!"

Pros:  Everything comes together in harmony

Cons:  none!!! I have purchased a Treo 600 for Sprint PCS about five weeks ago. I have owned more than a dozen PDAs in my life, but this is the best by far. 1) Excellent signal 2) Excellent "sound" 3) The browser allows you to go to basically any site even to check out the porn 4) Plenty of memory (keeps 400+ pictures in high def) 5) very cool design 6) the keyboard is the best comprimise between utility and space, I take my law school class notes on my cell phone. 7) Has solid look and feel (unlike Treo 300, which felt a bit cheap) 8) Even the plastic smells good - I kid you not. Overall - Palm does not pay me for saying thant, but Treo 600 is a breakthrough well worth a few hunderd bucks. In Europe is sells at around 1000 Ecu. You do the math. Strongly reccomend.

Pros:  all-in-one device, email, size, keypad

Cons:  voice quality, keypad, picture quality Let me preface this review by stating that I have never opened the manual that came with the phone. I do find new features as I peck around the phone, though if you are used to a PALM device much of this will be easily recognized.
Size: The candy bar phone style that Handspring chose isn't too bad considering everything this phone has. If you are used to a flip phone this is going to feel a bit big.
Screen: I carry my phone in my pocket usually so I modified some screen protective film for my screen. Even with it, the screen has fairly good quality. It isn't the best screen I have ever had but I think they traded size and battery life and made a fair trade-off with the quality.
Keyboard: My fingers aren't large and I get by fairly well with the keyboard though keying in a phone number with the keys is a test if you aren't paying attention (don't try this while driving!). The keys take quite a bit of pressure to push in which is good and bad. When you are pressing you wish it was a bit easier but it also keeps you from easily pushing a neighboring key by accident.
Voice Quality: OK, the speaker for your voice is located on the back of the device in a spot where one can easily place a hand while talking. Even without covering the hole it seems difficult for people to hear what you are saying. I have joined the ranks of people who appear to be talking to themselves using the earbud for quality.
Picture Quality: I had a Sanyo picture phone prior to this and the picture quality was much better (as was the screen). Don't plan on taking any photos in low light or quality photos. Also, the lense sticks out the back slightly, seems like it would be easy to scratch.
E-mail and web service: Much faster than my Sanyo was, though I heard the network was upgraded (word to Sprint, I want speed, not extra graphics). No comparison for reading, much more fits on the screen. Email is much better to respond to with the keypad instead of using a phone keypad and selecting letters. I saved 30% shopping using the Amazon link to compare a price while at the store (and helped to convince my girlfriend this thing wasn't a total waste of money!).
All of that said, it is hands down the best of these devices I have ever seen (though I haven't seen the Nokia flip with keypad). The center button enables you to do a lot with one hand and no stylus. Battery life seems good, though it is internal so you can't change it out. The charger isn't very large, no cradle type with it, but mine makes an annoying high pitched noise when plugged in but not hooked to the phone (maybe it keeps rodents away?).

Treo 600 is great

Pros:  Everything you need in your pocket

Cons:  SMS service not yet ready I eagerly awaited the release of the treo 600 and was one of the first to get one from my corporate account exec. I was a previous user of the samsung i300 palm phone and the Treo phone bolt on (a.k.a. Frankenphone) before that, so I can truly say that this Treo 600 is really close to being the ultimate personal communication device.
Heres the skinny on all the features:
The phone: Sound quality is good. People can hear me and I can hear them without moving the device from a natural phone position. Ring tones are great and dialing is easy with the touch screen or keyboard.
The Camera: Its usefull for general purpose things like taking a picute of something you want to remember or for broad landscapes. Its not so good with fine detail. From over 6 feet away you'll have trouble recognizing people especially in dimly lit conditions.
The Palm Features: As always, great. Bonuses with this device: MP3 player software is/was free with device registration and it ROCKS! The speaker on the unit is nice enough to pseudo-boombox, but the earphone attachment is key for flights.
Battery life: EXCELLENT! I charge mine often, but I have gone 2 days on a single charge with fairly heavy use.
Internet Access: It works. I wouldn't want to have to rely on it everyday, but it does what it needs to do in a pinch. What I'd like to see is a cable that turns the Treo 600 into a wireless modem for the laptop.
SD Memory and exansion slot: This is a great feature, but impossible to use effectively without a card reader on your PC. Even though the Treo 600 connects to your system with a USB cable, the transfer speed is stuck at serial levels which is SLOW. Forget trying to synch MP3 files. But with a card reader, it rocks. Coolest thing... having a nice digital camer that uses SD. Pull the card out of the camera pop it into the Treo 600 and instantly e-mail the pic!
All in all an EXCELLENT device well worth the $$$.

Pros:  Small, nice looking, easy keypad

Cons:  bad resolution, very poor pic quality cam I personally did not like the product. I had to give a softboot twice in a week to get the machine going.
The camera pic quality is really bad. Though, key strokes are very handy.
If PDA or Cell goes bad then you will loose control over whole machine. I am not personally not very impressed with Palm OS. I bought I330 before handspring and it also went bad.
I finally bought HP Windows CE 2003 Pocket PC and I am really happy with it.I also bought a seperate samsung cell. Its a good idea to keep the cell and pda seperately.

Pros:  Nice size, fast syncing,

Cons:  Does not support grafitti, camera is LOW quality I just got it and put some 3"s where I just was not sure in the rating.

Cons:The buttons are a bit small and I was disapointed that it did not have the "grafitti" capabilities for handwriting with a stylus. The buttons are a little small for my liking for typing. Camera is not worth using as it has very poor resolution. Using the Yahoo email is not so great as it seems to display everything on the yahoo page with the email listing last. The result is the unit is loading a very long time because it can read and displays all gifs and jpegs.

Pro: It has it all in one small phone.

The phone works well as far as plenty loud to here and no complaints from people on the other end.

Using the yahoo email is not so great as it seems to display everything on the yahoo page with the email listing last. The result is the unit is loading a very long time because it can read and displays all gifs and jpegs. I paid $599 through Sprint but may return it and buy here for $149. less

Pros:  Palm pilot, phone, e-mail, camera

Cons:  none I won the Treo 600 back in September. At first I thought it was huge, but it really isn't bad. There are so many good features on the phone and you don't have to carry around a planner because the phone is a palm pilot too. I really liked that the you can sync the Treo to your computer as well. Every call is crystal clear and the signals are excellent! This phone is amazing and I Love it!!

Pros:  Small/good battery life/keyboard/sms/internet

Cons:  poor cam/battery not replacable/loose partial text on im's Not to bad as a phone with size an battery life, other than you can't change battery and I have always been one to carry an extra.
The speaker phone always seems to have alot of echo to the one your talking to/so i don't use it.
PDA functions seem to work great execpt for small screen -a trade off for size.
Cammera is so poor i have yet to take a decent picture with it.
It seems to lose text at times on instant messages.
For the price of this phone/pda you would think eveything would be top notch.
As far as service-you go back and forth between handspring and sprint-my carrier. So service is terrible.
