While I've always been particular in buying computer accessories, such as a LiteOn CD-RW, this Sony drive excels at burning DVD's and many other websites will confirm it! Excellent Features at a decent price.

Pros:
Nice looking,easy to use with 321dvdcopy |

| Cons:
It was too big for my computer face. I had a dvd-burner with my vaio desktop. But it was burning at 1x speed. With the prices droping on the 4x speed so i upgrade my burner. I got this one over the Pionner one was the zdnet review on it. I have try different dvd-r media on it. I would still recommend using Ritek media, 99% perfect. I have use optical brand and a few others, but Ritek is still the best. But that was for my 1x speed burning. I am now using a GSC brand and it is same quilty as ritek but not for the extra charge for the name usage. And Ritek will work with my Pionner dvd burner with Tivo in it. I love both unit. I use 321DVDXCOPY and loving it. Now it only takes around 20 min per disk from copying to harddrive and then burning.

Pros:
Great before it broke |
|
|
|
Cons:
known defects After burning 12 DVD's I started to burn my first CD with this drive. The amber light has not stopped flashing since. Sony tech support said it is a known issue and I can repair it for $170. The warranty expired 2 months ago or I would be able to RMA it.
Sony said it only happens in 1% of these DVDR's, but there is no way they would fix it after 1 year.
