NCsoft Guild Wars
Product Description
Guild Wars takes the best elements of today's massively multiplayer online games and combines them with a new mission-based design that eliminates the tedium of those games. You can meet new friends in towns or outposts, form a party, and then go tackle a quest together. Your party always has its own unique copy of the quest map, so camping, kill-stealing, and long lines to complete quests are all things of the past. Within a quest you have unprecedented freedom and power to manipulate the world around you: your magic can build bridges and open up new pathways, or it can burn down forests and tear the ground asunder.
You don't have to spend countless hours on a leveling treadmill to get to the interesting parts of the game, because combat is designed to be strategically interesting and challenging right from the beginning. You don't have to spend hours running around the world to prepare for a quest, because Guild Wars allows you to instantly travel to the beginning of any quest that you've previously unlocked. You'll never spend days playing only to discover that choices you made early on have left you with a permanently uncompetitive character, because the unique skill system in Guild Wars allows infinite experimentation but doesn't allow bad decisions to ruin a character. And you'll never meet new players only to discover that you can't play with them or compete against them because their characters are on a different server than yours; in Guild Wars, all characters live in one seamless world.
Built for Competition
After learning the game and building up your first character, you may choose to test your skills in head-to-head competition or guild warfare. The game is designed to reward player skill and teamwork, not time spent playing, so you won't need to spend hundreds of hours leveling up your character to compete.
The game includes integrated support for guilds, with guild banners and halls, chat rooms and forums. Guilds can challenge other guilds to battle, compete for control of key parts of the world, and be ranked on a worldwide ladder.
Unique Streaming Technology
ArenaNet's unique streaming technology forever eliminates the concept of patching a game. You don't have to wait a month for the next big patch to experience new content. Instead, the game constantly and intelligently streams new content to your computer in the background while you play. The world can change continually. This allows us to build a much more dynamic game world than any that has existed before.

Pros:
No monthly fee, balanced characters, stunning artwork |

Cons:
Release was delayed to early 2005 I realize that Guild Wars is not yet available for purchase. But I have played the game (during the May E3 for Everyone event) and I remain active as a member of the community that awaits its much-anticipated release late this winter or early next spring. Throughout my experience with the game, I found it continually enjoyable, entertaining, and absorbing. It draws you in completely, and when you're playing, you feel like you are part of the world, not just a gamer playing a game, but a warrior, or a ranger, or a spellcaster, fighting evil and testing your skills against other fighters in the realm. The experience is completely immersive.
The E3 For Everyone event was an alpha-level event, meaning that the game was still in its early stages of playable development. It still lacked a large portion of what will be in the released version. Nonetheless its content was more than enough to keep me occupied for the duration of the event (3 full days).
The PvP (player-versus-player) was by far the best multiplayer combat I've ever experienced, surpassed and first-person shooters or any other action/RPG games I've played before. And the co-operative missions were engaging, following the storyline of an impending raid by the fur-covered anthromorphic Charr upon the walls of the wasteland region of Ascalon.
The characters are creative and different. THere are six professions: Ranger, Warrior, Necromancer, Elementalist, Mesmer, and Monk. Each has many combinations of skills that make for dozens of ways to play the game.
I could go on forever. If you like roleplaying games at all, I suggest you buy this game.

Pros:
Best graphics ive ever seen, great sound. ULTRA realistic great overall game |
| Cons:
Are you kidding me? if there were ever a game i would break my leg for, its this. this game has unsurpassable graphics, TONS of missions to keep you busy, and no grinding lvls until your character is at its peak. the music is awsome, no little things that stand out, so it wont get on your nerves, and very catchy, classical/dramatic/exciting music. awsome pvp mode. so much to keep you busy, because being number one in the world doesnt come easy. more strategy than hack and slash. a very well made character at a low lvl with low gear could take down a peak lvl noob anyday. all around superb game, everything you would ever want from a game.

Pros:
no monthly fee, great gameplay |
| Cons:
sontimes quests get a little tidious This game is great for the casual or hardcore gamer, since you dont have to pay a monthly fee you dont have to worry about getting your moneys woth out of it. guild wars has great player vs. player combat and decent player vs. enviroment experiences. One of my favorite features of the game is the ability to create a PvP only charater already at max level, rather than having to go through the whole process of levling up to try out a character build.

Pros:
Everything |
Cons:
Nothing In this game you are able to pick from a couple charectors, Warrior(W), Necromancer(N),Ranger(R), Mesmer(M), Elementalist(E), and Monk (Mo). After you pick your charector, desighn s/he, and pick name then you start playing. After you complete acouple extra missions you are able to pick your second class. Your second class doesnt really do much put give you that classes spells. There is main missions which get you farther in the game and farther through the story. Even though it has a long story it is still online(only). Have Fun.

Pros:
The awsome artwork and graphics make this one of the beast games this year!!! |
| Cons:
You can only see other people inside of towns (exceptions for party/guild members) which is a blessing inside a curse. An awsome game that has most great gamers drooling. It requires no monthly fee and you don't have to have a incredable computer to play it!!! (Want to get you kids somethin cool?)

Pros:
Stunning graphics, awesome storyline, and you don't get bored easily |
Cons:
none that I can think of For my 19th birthday my boyfriend bought me Guild Wars because it was something that him and his friends enjoyed doing. I was a little reluctant to try it because I don't play MMORPGs.....until now!!! When I installed it onto my laptop and began playing, I was hooked!!!
The only MMORPG that i have played besides Guild Wars was Last Chaos, and after playing this, i'm NEVER going back! The graphics are awesome, the game has a good storyline, and I haven't been bored with it yet. I would recommend this game to both the serious and casual gamer.

None I beta tested this game way back when, and loved it then. Now, I love it even more. There are lots of quests for you to do, creatures to fight, and people to meet. Best of all, its free to play, unlike most other MMORPG's.
