I unboxed it, loaded the toner cartridge, plugged in the usb port, loaded the software and was up and running in 5 minutes. Print quality is sharp and clear, speed is awesome. Have run several thousand copies with no jambs. Just a great home/office printer.

Cons:
Maybe the receiving tray could be a little bigger. But it isn't bad. I have had good luck with HP printers, so when I decided to get a new one, HP was the obvious choice. (My old HP Laserjet III was still going strong, but it was big and slow.) The 1300 was easy to set up and it spits out those pages really fast!
I will admit that I haven't had it very long--I just bought it last week--so I can't comment on how dependable it is over a long period of time. But our office has had a number of HP printers and they have been dependable.

Pros:
Easy to use and set up |

| Cons:
Bad cartridges I have over 50 of these at our school which I support. After about a year the cartridges start to print dark images. Replacing the cartridge clears up the problem but the bar graph on the configuration printout show only 25% of the toner had been used. I worry that I'm throwing away lots of toner. I wouldn't recommend this printer for heavy usage.

Cons:
Defective product, service and misleading return Would not work. Called service center. 4 hours on phone proved the product was defective. Sent it back for repair. It was returned working, but I was not informed that they changed the device. When I tried to install a network using the original installation disc, the computer will no longer work at all, because they failed to disclose the original installation disc would not work. When I tried to use the installation disc, the printer will no longer work and I'm back in the same position I was in before. They should have provided me a new installation disc or given me some warning about not using the original installastion disc. They also jipped me out of the rebate. It was terrible
