TERK TV5 Antenna
|
|
Product Description
The TV5 antenna is a perfect primary set-top antenna in suburban or outlying areas. TV5 combines a high-performance amplified antenna with a low-profile design that fits on top of any television, and even fits inside most television cabinets. TV5 features TERK's unique Complementary Symmetry technology, incorporating a pair of tuned receiving elements for excellent reception range and clarity. TV5's low-noise broadband amplifier features a simple one-touch adjust for all stations, and TERK's patented selectable amplifier bypass prevents over-modulation of stronger incoming signals. The integrated video selector switches between the antenna and any video component such as a DVD, VCR or Video Game at the touch of a button, without having to change any connections. TERK's indoor television antennas are engineered with premium materials resulting in a durable, high-performance antenna that will look great on any TV for years to come.

Pros:
FINALLY, something that does what it advertises, right out of the box |

Cons:
the square antenna band takes a bit more lateral "real estate", but for the good reception I'm getting, its worth it Someone gave me an old style antennae with a booster attachment and it worked OK, but I had to adjust it between channels, then during a surgical recovery I used cable for a couple of months and when I had the cable turned off I couldn't get the old boosted antennae to restore the usual network (ABC, CBS, NBC, PAX, PBS, UPN AND WB{local}) reception. So did some research booster antennaes and found this item advertised at a local big screen TV retailer. As they were highly recognized for being hi-quality and hi-tech, I did some more research on the TERK TV5 and whilel there were very few, (apparently this a reasonably new product), all the reviews I found were positive, so I ordered one oneline (saved $10 over the local retailer). I installed the antennae in a matter of minutes (very simple design) and plugged it in. Turned the TV on and VOILA! instant reception in the above channels and a few others too. I am VERY pleased and satisfied, requires little or no adjustment (for my area) between channels. I've only had it for three days, so I couldn't give 5 stars for support, but with such a simple design, I don't anticipate needing any support

Cons:
None I was able to compare between the Terk HDTVa and the Terk TV5. The former couldn't get a decent signal on some of the channels. Having read positive reviews on Terk TV5, I decided it was worth a try. Indeed, it performed to my expectations. The signal was strong, reception was clear and assembly was a breeze. I can get CBS,NBC,ABC,FOX,PBS plus 2 local stations in HD without problems. It can pull 90 to 95% of the signal. I live on a wooded area where Direct TV cannot get a line of sight and approximately 15 to 20 miles from the transmitting towers. The bottom line is, you can never go wrong with this product. Highly recommended.

Pros:
Terrific HD Signal |

|
|
| Cons:
None I've returned several antennas before I stumbled upon this one. It picks up HD signals way better than some labeled specifically as an HD antenna.
