Animal Crossing GameCube

Product Description

Dubbed as a "communication game" by Nintendo, Animal Crossing creates a virtual community of which the player is but a single member. Players begin by naming their character and town, and then setting the date before moving into their new Animal Crossing settlement. The town's denizens are talking animals, and the emphasis is placed on making friends and creating a virtual life.

By using the GameCube's real-time clock, the game reflects actual time of day or night. Play at six in the morning, for example, and many characters will still be asleep, while others will be getting a jump-start on their day. Holidays are celebrated and the world changes accordingly, with lights hanging on trees at Christmas, for instance. Certain in-game events will only occur at specific times during the day, and some characters will only appear at set intervals.

As with everyday life, characters need to get a job in order to make the money needed to purchase new items for their house as well as pay off loans. Using the Nintendo GameCube -- Game Boy Advance Cable, players will be able to design new textures and outfits on the handheld and transfer them back to the GameCube so they appear in the game. Animal Crossing can also be played by up to four players, though not simultaneously. Others can visit and leave notes and items for the primary player.

The game also provides a host of events and things to do to keep players occupied. Catching bugs and fish could yield some extra cash, but time might be better spent on planting fruit trees or perhaps forging new relationships with some of the neighbors. Faithful reproductions of NES games can also be collected, played, and transferred to the Game Boy Advance, including Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, Baseball, Punch-Out, Pinball, and Excitebike. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

Pros:

Cons:   I have never liked video games, I usually find myself becoming bored after 15 or 20 minutes. This game, however, is extremely addictive. Its fun to play, challenging and, best of all, everything happens in real time. you can shop, make money, sell things trade things, find fossils, catch fish, decorate your house...its always something different!

Pros:  Excellent RPG, good for all ages

Cons:  Boat ride to your island can be long and boring Animal Crossing on the Nintendo GameCube is a wonderful game to begin with. The overall game is almost perfect with the vast areas to explore. Making friends is a must in the game, or you can forget about getting special prizes. Connecting to the Game Boy Advance to travel to your island is great. Every game has random animals that live in your town (see players guide), which can increase the replay value for players. If you have a friend who has Animals Crossing, you can swap memory cards and travel to their town and visit their animals. Beware though, when you do this, one of your animals from your town may come along without you knowing and leave to your friends town. Don't worry because you might get one of their animals. The e-Reader support is great if you want to get a lot of presents. You can do this just by purchasing Animal Crossing Cards at any video game retailer. On a scale of 1 being worst and 10 being best, I give Animal Crossing a 9.

Pros:

Cons:   Our kids ages 10, 8 and 4 wont stop playing it. They play it more than any other game we have for game cube. I only wish it was simultaneous multi player so they didnt fight over who plays it next. Its also hard to play for just 10-15 minutes, they play it for hours and hours at a time. Best game we have, and educational on teaching them about managing money, cleaning houses and decorating, expressing personality and creativity, and how to be a friendly neighbor. They also swap games in memory with friends. Great game.

Pros:  To many to describe

Cons:  None Animal Crossing lets you to live life in a more interesting way. It's extremely interactive and will keep you playing for hours. It also shows you some responsibility like plucking weeds earning money and expanding your house. It gets dark when it really is dark and it has original NES games that you can play. Thats why you should get animal crossing NOW!!!

Pros:  You can basicly control your life, you can design your house after you repay your dept.

Cons:  there isn't much to do after you design your house, the game in a way repeats. You are moving to a town, but you don't have a place to live. You have to repay your dept to Tom Nook of 18,800 bells. There is no time limit on how long it takes you to repay your dept, but you can't upgrade your house until you completly repay your dept. There are 6 other townsfolk in your town whom you may talk to. You may also ask for jobs [they are very generous]. If you have a friend who also plays animal crossing, and has animal crossing data in his/her memory card, you can go to your friend's town. I really love this game.

I hope this review helped!
