WWF Attitude Dreamcast

Product Description

WWF Attitude pits more than 40 real life ~WWF wrestlers in brutal combat. Trying to simulate all that one can possibly see in the real ~WWF, Acclaim has filled this title to the rim with options. The main modes of play are Exhibition, Career, King of the Ring, and Pay-Per-View.

Exibition mode includes a variety of its own modes of play: Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, Battle Royal, Steel Cage Match, 2-on-1, Tornado, Lumberjack, Gauntlet, Tag Team Gauntlet, Survivor Series, War, Stable Match, Triangle, Triple Threat, and Hardcore. Career mode allows players to take a wrestler through a full season where they will take part in such events as ~Monday Night Raw and ~Wrestlemania. King of the Ring is where players battle through a series of matches in order to become champion. In the Pay-Per-View mode you are able to select numerous matches while configuring your very own pay-per-view event.

The actual play mechanics of the game work on a brand new set of input commands that imitate the fighting genre more so than the grappling genre. Now, rather than either button pressing at a rapid rate (faster than your opponent), or simply beating your opponent to the punch once a clinch has began, the user is required to input a sequence of directional presses followed by a button press. An example is left, right, right, left, then "A" button to perform a body slam.

The Rock, Billy Gun, Ken Shamrock, and X-Pac, all in their full glory, will belt out familiar catch phrases and finishing moves. When you tire of the more than 40 traditional wrestlers featured in WWF Attitude you can create your own and save them to the ~VMU. Also included is an option to toggle adult features such as language and blood on or off. ~ Jonathan Licata, All Game Guide

Pros:

Cons:   Most Wrestling games I have played on Dreamcast, N64, genesis and of course good ole' nintendo, (ahhh Steel Cage Match mmm) have had bad control, and this game takes the cage. Control is bad, commentary needs work and wrestlers dont grapple well together. Graphics need some fine tuning. The best part of the game is create a wreslter, lots of options. The depth of the game is fine. Many different match options gave this game a 3 instead of the 2 stars. If you can find it cheap buy it, its good for a few laughs, then you can whip out the old nintendo and play a real wrestlin' game.
